What does OO or OPO stand for?
Say what? Open Plan Offices (OO/OPO) is a commonly used term in office floor plan design, aimed to foster transparency and collaboration in the workplace. So quite the opposite of Closed Plan Offices. Studies have however surfaced a possible incline of productivity for some types of employees as a result, while its positive effects are stimulating interaction and collaboration amongst employees.
Open Plan Offices (OPOs) have become increasingly popular in recent years as they are designed to foster transparency and collaboration among employees. The OPO / OO design is quite different from Closed Plan Offices (CPOs), where employees work in enclosed spaces with limited opportunities for interaction with colleagues.

These materials can help to reduce the amount of sound that bounces off hard surfaces and reverberates throughout the office, making it easier for employees to concentrate.
Another solution is to provide employees with noise-cancelling headphones. These headphones use advanced technology to block out external noise and provide a more focused listening experience. This can be especially helpful for employees who work in areas of the office where noise levels are particularly high.
Companies can also create designated quiet spaces in the office where employees can go to work without distraction. These spaces can be soundproofed private phone booths or designated areas where employees can work in silence.
While the OPO design has its advantages, companies must be mindful of the potential for noise pollution in these environments. By employing strategies to combat noise pollution, companies can create a more productive and comfortable work environment for their employees.
